An awesome day at this less commercial and fantastic park. Went in the caves and ziplining. The cave was beautiful and truly amazing to see the formations and some great "surprises". Our guide Rodrigo answered all of our questions, and took pictures at scenic spots.
The guides for the ziplining were awesome. Josue and Alfredo were very patient with my young son who had never ziplined. Both were very thorough and fun to zip with. My son enjoyed it so much he wants to go back.
Park has spider monkeys, parrots, deer roaming freely and other animals plus a cafe. All in all a great afternoon. The photos were great as well!
One of the best excursions, My husband was worried about our little girl 7 yrs, but she was enjoying it. The water is freezing cold, but worth the try, and you will get used to it. Love that place and my children wants to go there again
It worth it! If you are visiting Riviera Maya this is an excellent option. Johny and Alfredo were our guidesmen in the cave and the cenotes. They were fantastic; they gave us all the explanations and aswer all our questions. It was really beautiful and interesting to explore this wonders, we totally recommend it. n A plus were the deer everywere when we came out from the cave
This is a big natural park, located within the jungle at the roadside of highway 307, just outside Tulum. It is best accessible by car, as there is some way from the entrance to the reception, but you can definitely get there with public transport: every colectivo going between Tulum and Playa del Carmen will drop you off at the entrance. 20 pesos from Tulum. Go up to the security guard, and he will take your name and call in a van to pick you up. It's a short wait, and then some 5-7 minutes to the reception.
The park offers 3 main attractions: a zip line, a cave walk, and a cenote. You can choose which ones are of interest to you, or combine them all. 15-20% off are offered if you book on their website (very convenient, and doesn't require specifying a date - just come in when you have the time, or find yourself around). On addition, animals such as deers are roaming around in the open (in their natiral habitat; this is not a petting zoo), and cages of monkeys, pigs, peacocks and parrots are scattered around.
I took the cave and the cenote.
Starting with the cave:
Absolutely amazing.
Thr park is prouding with it being among the top 10 recommended cave walks by National Geographic magazine, and with good reason: this is an amazing experience. The cave is tastefully lit, to allow you to see the impressive stalactites and stalagmites, without disturbing the private, quiet atmosphere of the natural wonder. The guides are very knowledgeable, and will answer any question you (or your kids) may have. Thank you, Diego, for a great experience!
After we left thr cave, we waited for a van to drove us to the cenote (yes, the park is that big). There are bathrooms, and changing rooms, and lockers. You need to leave an ID as a deposit for your locker key, and you can borrow (no additional cost!) snorkels. You are put into a life vest (mandatory, and for good reason) and head down into the cenote.
Make sure you arrive on a hot day, because the cenote is fully covered, and the water are very cold.
The experience of snorkeling slowly in cold water among some fish and between stalactites and stalagmites is hard to describe. A very powerful experience, especially if you keep your eyes both above the water and underneath: it's lile being in two worlds at the same time. The stalactites are very impressive, and you get as close as possible to them, floating just beneath them; and below yoe, there are some stalagmites, and ancient stone, and nooks, all lit, very tastefully, with a soft blue light to make an atmosphere out of this world.
Again, amazing experience. Don't miss out on this!
We had a fantastic experience with Josue And Henry. We had no idea what to expect and we felt safe and had a blast - Mom, Dad, 11 year old and 8 year old girls.
Recomendado 100%
A really enjoyable and different day out. The cave complex is very large and beautiful, with the underground pool at the end a breath-taking finale. Swimming in the cenote cave feels just as special. Very friendly and attentive staff throughout. Lunch at the cafe is worth mentioning: decent quality, very fresh and excellent value (NOT the rip-off you might expect when you are in such a remote place). Highly recommended!
Great experience with so much to at one place! The zip lining was very fun and the guides Josué and Alexis made it very enjoyable and were very nice! The photographers are also very good at taking pictures and getting them ready for airdrop/ other things so you can easily get your photos! The cave was amazing and our guide Ricardo was very knowledgeable. The underground pool where you can swim was so beautiful with the fish and was a refreshing place to snorkel at the end of the day. It was very pretty and an amazing adventure with lots of animals like deer, monkeys, birds, snakes, a crocodile, peacocks, and more! One stop day long excursion you will love! I would definitely reccomend going here, fun for all ages!
Pff! Todo el lugar muy fantástico!!
La pasamos de lujo, en medio de tanta naturaleza, sin duda pdvolveremos, esperando de nuevo nos guíe Herny, gracias por tu amable atención!Pff! Todo el lugar muy fantástico!!
Well operated and less commercial adventure park. The guides were excellent, especially for the zip lines. Josue and Alexis were encouraging and patient. Loved the natural feel of the park though the road in was a bit rough!
Just returned from a great day at Aktun Chen. All of the guides were so helpful and made sure we had a great time. Zipline was excellent- good long runs. Cave walk was amazing - Rodrigo knew his stuff and his English was perfect. Cenote swim was the perfect end to a fab day - magical experience. All well-organised and good value - we booked the excursion tour online. This included transport to and from our hotel but we were finished about an hour before pick-up (4 hours or so in the park) so just got a collectivo back - really easy.
We went to swim in the Cenote. Jaime was a great guide and because we were so early AND in the low season we had the whole cenote to ourselves. Just about the most beautiful thing I ever saw. A+A
